Slacker In Chief Obama Says You Know What’s Super Boring? Learning and stuff.

So snoozeville! Math is hard and school is boring.
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama said Monday that students should take fewer standardized tests and school performance should be measured in other ways. Too much testing makes education boring for kids, he said.
“Too often what we have been doing is using these tests to punish students,” the president told students and parents at a town hall hosted by the Univision Spanish-language television network at Bell Multicultural High School in Washington, D.C.
Tests? Who needs tests? Ensuring that children have actually learned stuff is for reactionary Philistines! Plus, tests are meany pants. They are a punishment, much like babies are.
“One thing I never want to see happen is schools that are just teaching the test because then you’re not learning about the world, you’re not learning about different cultures, you’re not learning about science, you’re not learning about math,” the president said. “All you’re learning about is how to fill out a little bubble on an exam and little tricks that you need to do in order to take a test and that’s not going to make education interesting.”
“And young people do well in stuff that they’re interested in,” Obama said. “They’re not going to do as well if it’s boring.”
Learning Shmearning. Let’s just all be good citizens of the world and stuff. Now excuse me, it’s tee time!
(Obviously, President Obama is not interested in being President. Otherwise, by his own reasoning, he’d actually be good at it instead of an epic fail)
Tests? We don’t need no stinking Tests!
I don’t like Obama, but in this case he’s right.
Standardized tests are not good ways of finding out how much the testee actually knows.
I did great on them (in the 90’s percentiles always), but not that great in school.
Hey, I know what we should do. Let`s not make them learn anything but just have fun playing games and stuff. Then they will grow up to be great Democrat sheople, and be “dumb asses” like Obama.
Hey johnnywood,
You spelled “sheeple” wrong. You must have been having fun playing games and stuff when the word was first coined back in 1950.
I` ve seen both variations, thank you.
Only one variation is correct. You’re welcome.
How do you say “sheeple” in Spanish? Oh well, doesn’t matter, they’re just here to do the jobs Americans won’t do and vote Democrat, anyways.
Betcha he thinks annual testing of homeschoolers is VERY necessary, though.
I have to agree with him, as much as I hate to say it. Testing, in it’s current form, absolutely sucks and teachers do teach to the tests their students must pass.
My daughter is in the state-run K12 program and enjoys it much more than she does going to the local high school. She says she is learning a lot more and is more interested. They still do tests, of course, as it is a state-run virtual school, but everything is geared more to her interests.
Get a damn grip. Once she leaves high school guess what? The world isn’t geared toward her interests. Congratulations you just raised a child that won’t feel she needs to contribute to society but rather society needs to bow down to. Another narcissist brat.
