Investigation Finally Reveals Who Funded SC Democrat Senate Candidate Alvin Greene

July 10, 2010

My latest post at David Horowitz’s NewsReal:

When the schadenfreud-elicious Alvin Greene won the Democrat nomination for senate in South Carolina, the ever delusional Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) accused Republicans of funding Alvin Greene as a ‘plant’ to ensure Senator Jim DeMint’s re-election. Yes, that Jim DeMint. The one who would clearly and soundly trounce any democrat opponent without the need of any trickery of any sort, but by relying on his policy ideas and sound judgment.

Said Clyburn:

“The motive could very well be to embarass the Democratic party. This could be embarassing if we do not get it worked out. Or this could be someone who wanted to ensure a victory [for incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint],” Clyburn said.

Clyburn concluded there is a “great possibility” that someone paid for him to run and tampered with the machines.

So, an investigation was commenced because, really, South Carolina doesn’t have anything better to do with it’s law enforcement budget, apparently. The investigation has just been completed and guess who funded Alvin Greene?

We, the taxpayers did. He paid his own fee from money he had received in military benefits and from unemployment checks he has been collecting. As Erick Erickson at RedState points out, the very same unemployment benefits that the Democrats themselves are continuously extending . Via Hot Air:

Alvin Greene, the obscure jobless man whose come-from-nowhere victory in the June Democratic primary for U.S. Senate created a national furor, had legitimate sources of income to pay his $10,400 primary entry fee, law enforcement sources said Friday.

He will not, according to SLED, face criminal deception charges for requesting a taxpayer funded attorney in a still pending criminal case against him.

The source of Greene’s money is none other than the U.S. government and the S.C. state government, said SLED director Reggie Lloyd.

Greene had received almost $6000 from his military discharge, and another $3000 from tax refunds.  He also had a few thousand dollars in his bank account before that, and had been receiving $1100 per month in jobless benefits.  Greene lives with his father, so his expenses are low — just “haircuts and groceries,” as SLED put it.

Alvin Greene not only has super keen job creation ideas, but he knows how to budget and save money! Better than most Democrats, I’d say.

In the end, I suppose Rep Clyburn was correct. It certainly is embarrassing. For Democrats.

No doubt DeMint will win re-election. However, how cool would it be for this guy (Greene) to get elected with no support from the Democrat “machine”. He sounds impressive for a Dem. Maybe he should replace Clyburn as he seems a lot more intelligent.

The only state in the nation that Alvin Greene could ever have possibly won the Democratic nomination for senate is South Carolina.

According to the SC Department of Research and Statistics, more than 50% of SC residents do not have literacy skills equal to a high school graduate…24% of residents function on an 8th grad level or less, and approximately 35% of SC students drop out of school.

With statistics like these, no one should be surprised that a guy like Greene gets 100,000 votes from people who have no idea who he is. They’re lucky to figure out how to operate a voting machine at all.

Of course, Republicans have nothing to be embarassed about in SC, they’ve only dominated that states corrupt system for a generation. This earth shaking “Democratic” scandal eclipses everything that has happened in that state in the years past. Right, Lori??

With politicians like Alvin Greene, Strom “illegitimate child with his black maid” Thurmond, Thomas “coke dealer” Ravenel State Rep. Jake “Raghead” Knotts, Rep. Joe “You Lie!” Wilson, U.S. Sen. Jim “Just For Men” DeMint, Gov. Mark “Hiking the Appalachians” Sanford, Lt. Gov. Andre “I’m not gay, dammit!” Bauer, and at least half of the legislature, I think that any “embarassment” can be broken down in this order:

South Carolina is an embarassment to:

    1. Republicans
    2. The voters of South Carolina
    3. The State of South Carolina
    4. The South
    5. The United States of America
    6. The Planet Earth
    7. Democrats

Why is it that you have nothing to say about the content of my post? If you disagree with me, you can argue your point and tell me where I’m mistaken instead of trying and failing to insult me.

By the way, I like the way that you sign your comment at the end, that’s very classy. I think that I’ll do the same from now on.

Molten, I do agree with you about S.C. politicians except Joe “You Lie” Wilson as he is the only one in that session who was telling the truth. B.O. was lying as always.

That’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

Joe Wilson shouted “You lie!” when Obama said that illegal immigrants were not covered by his healthcare bill.

Wilson called the White House and issued a statement apologizing for his “inappropriate and regrettable” comments shortly after the speech.

The fact is that illegal immigrants (resident aliens) will be required by the law to buy and pay for their own insurance, and will receive zero government subsidies. Since resident aliens already soak the US taxpayer to the tune of millions of dollars by getting their healthcare from emergency rooms, requiring them by law to purchase health insurance is designed to save taxpayer money, and prevent them from abusing the emergency room.

Noncitizens are considered “resident aliens” under U.S. tax law, and would have to buy insurance. Unlike immigration laws, the tax code doesn’t distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants.

Section 246 of the healthcare bill clearly states that there shall be no payments made “on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”

So, our opinions differ. I think Joe Wilson was wrong not only about the facts, but for yelling disrespectfully during the SOTU speech. If you can show me where in the bill it says that illegals will be covered at taxpayer expense, I’d love to see that section of the bill.
