Dear Jimmy Carter: You Lie! Also, You’re a Jackass
There! I was bi-partisanly insulting by using slurs uttered by both Republican Joe Wilson and Democrat President Obama. Huggles!
Jimmy Carter opened his mouth only to stick his foot in it once again. From MSNBC “First Read” (prejudice against Southerners. They *know* we can’t read! At least, that’s what they tell me all the time)
In an interview with NBC’s Brian Williams, former Democratic President Jimmy Carter attributed much of the conservative opposition that President Obama is receiving to the issue of race.
“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man,” Carter said. “I live in the South, and I’ve seen the South come a long way, and I’ve seen the rest of the country that share the South’s attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans.”
Carter continued, “And that racism inclination still exists. And I think it’s bubbled up to the surface because of the belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It’s an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply.”
Huh. That doesn’t explain my deep animosity towards you, Jimmy (first name basis, as you are yet another seer who professes to know what is in my heart and mind). Perhaps I’m a Cracker-ist? Wait, I suppose I’d have to then be a self-loathing Cracker-Ist. Or maybe I’m just a Sanctimonious Bitter Old Tool-ist? Nah, I’m pretty sure it is simply because I deplore anti-semitic bigots.
I’m really tired of trying to explain to the Left that they are the ones who see color everywhere and in everything and that they are reprehensibly diminishing true acts of real racism; in fact, they are diminishing and demeaning the entire Civil Rights movement. Alas, it’s a waste of time to keep trying to explain it to them, as they won’t listen to me anyway because I’m a Stockholm Syndrome-y Conservative (with dash of Libertarian) nutty dame. Plus, they are aging old hippies who dont’ realize Alinsky tricks do no work on us any longer because we are onto them. They are no longer “radical’ and ‘hip”. They are old and tired and utterly transparent. (one promise kept by Obama, at least! His administration, and those around him, are totally transparent)
If interested, I already explained the problems with their “You’re Racist!” meme in response to Maureen Dowd (if that’s her real name and she didn’t just “borrow” someone else’s) and Salon’s Joan Walsh.
Instead of rehashing, I’ll simply refresh everyone’s memory, if need be just in case anyone was going to make the dreadful mistake of listening to anything he has to say, and I’ll point out some other classy and brilliant things Carter has said in the past year.
Remember when he expressed his “thought” that John McCain was “milking” his POW status?
Former president Jimmy Carter called Republican presidential candidate John McCain a “distinguished Naval officer,” but said the Arizona senator has been “milking every possible drop of advantage” from his time served as a prisoner of war in Vietnam…
“John McCain was able to weave in his experience in a Vietnam prison camp, no matter what the question was,” said Carter, a 7-year Naval officer who served aboard submarines. “It’s much better than talking about how he’s changed his total character between being a senator, a kind of a maverick at the time, and his acquiescence in the last few months with every kind of lobbyist pressure that the right wing Republicans have presented to him.”
Yeah, that stuck in my craw. And it had been preceded with yet another example of Carter speaking ‘truth to power’. This interview constantly floats around in my mind because I see a lot of Jimmy Carter and his extremely frightening World View in President Obama.
If Jimmy Carter can break protocol by bashing his fellow past Presidents as well as a sitting President (he bad-mouthed George W. Bush incessantly WHILE he was in office) in an unprecedented manner, then so can I, one of the “little people” for whom all Government employees, including the President, are supposed to work. I hate that term “little people”, by the way. I hate even more the fact that some people seem to relish calling themselves “the little guy” or the “common” man. Uh, why belittle yourself?
You may not agree and you may think it shows a horrendous lack of manners or civility, but, hey, I am not perfect (obviously) and have quite a few flaws. Example: I have been known to drive around blasting George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex”. And singing, loudly and rather badly, along with it. That, my tendency to blurt out whatever is on my mind and the fact that I watched the entire season of Rock of Love. Only to make snarky comments, of course. Sadly, they were out loud and I was watching it alone. This also doesn’t explain why I watched all the seasons. We’ll just pretend that never happened. Thankies!
Anyhoo, I won’t turn a deaf ear to President Jimmy Carter’s egregious comments just because he was once elected to the Presidency. I didn’t vote for him, clearly; I was still drinking from the bottle at the time – Pathetically, I was 5 years old. Which is yet another flaw. Oh, wait. Never mind. That’s a positive.
Not only is President Carter wrong, as ever, but he is, in fact, delusional as the video above clearly indicates. Yeah, diplomacy with Iran has a history of working out so well, doesn’t it? And, if they don’t cave under the severe threat of the dreaded and harsh acts of diplomacy, i.e. dialogues and conversations, we should then move to …….stronger conversations? Do you honestly believe that if we just opened our arms and our hearts and embraced insane psychopathic murderers, they will like us and give us a cookie? I really think that your idea of peace is to create an America of which so few people are proud that no one would be willing to even fight for nor defend her.
Was he dipping into his brother’s stash? Lay off the Billy Beer, President Carter. Please. And stop dealing it to Obama. You must be, as he has and is espousing the very same ideology and policy ideas (term used loosely, obvy)
Thanks for the hearty laugh, however, Mr. President. It is awfully cute how you claim to have made only ONE mistake during your Presidency. Hmm….seems like there is another fellow who doesn’t admit to mistakes. At least, I think he doesn’t….it is rather hard to have made mistakes when you voted Present instead of making actual decisions. Oh! That’s probably why it is so hard for him now; he’s had no experience in actually trying to lead or govern! I *think* some people may have tried to warn y’all about that, no? Still, I can’t be absolutely positive because we aren’t allowed to actually ask any questions. That’s Racist! Plus, it’s divisive and vitriolic! Unlike, you know, calling American citizens Brownshirts, Evil mongers and Terrorists.
But, Mr. Carter, Sir, (like the Olbermann touch? Wanted to make you feel at home. Southern hospitality and all) since you obviously have no grasp of concepts involving anything of import…..or reality, for that matter, I can only assume that you must be referring to the error in judgment you made when you allowed Billy out of the attic and into the public arena. On that, once again, I must disagree. Billy was the far, far preferable Carter.
Hey, someone else is buddy buddy with a Billy….Billy Ayers. The similarities are uncanny. Well, guess what…fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I have a feeling that shame will be corrected in 2010 and in 2012, however. I’m banking on the rest of the Country feeling the same way.
By the way, When Osama Bin Laden is a fan, Jimmy? It’s really time to STFU. Sir!
UPDATE: Video Posted at Hot Air; Click here to see it ( I have to wait for youtube, sigh. I don’t have fancy pants video thingies)
