Afghanistan Murder Apologists Reid & Graham Call for Free Speech Limits & Koran Burning Inquiry

This is utterly revolting:

U.S. lawmakers said Sunday they would consider a request by AfghanPresident Hamid Karzai to formally condemn a Florida pastor’s decisionto burn the Koran, after the act triggered deadly riots in Afghanistan.

Note that once again it is being said that one act – the burning of paper – “triggered” the deadly riots. Not the ideology nor the people who committed the acts, of course. Reid flat-out says that Terry Jones caused the murders — murders committed at the hands of other people. People apparently so simple-minded that they cannot think for themselves and cannot possibly know the difference between right and wrong.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid repudiated pastor Terry Jones for touching off the chaos with what he called a “publicity stunt.” Jones had earlier threatened to burn the Koran, but then shelved the plan until last month. The burning attracted little U.S. attention at the time but was used as a rallying cry in Afghanistan.

“This was an effort to get some publicity for him. He got it. But in theprocess, 10-20 people have been killed,” Reid said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Asked whether Congress could pass a resolution condemning it, he said, “We’ll take a look at this.”

You’ll take a look at this? Hey, I have a better idea. Why not take a look at why you constantly make excuses for barbarism and evil acts? Why not take a look at, you know, history and see that murderous rampages and beheadings happen all the time – somehow occurring without some obscure pastor burning a book.

Lindsey Graham, who for some inexplicable reason has not been banned by the GOP from appearing on Sunday shows also jumps on the apologist/excuse making bandwagon:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., suggested Congress should condemn the burning, but also stressed that one pastor’s actions should not excuse the subsequent killings.

“Burning a Koran is a terrible thing, but it doesn’t justify killing someone. Burning a Bible would be a terrible thing, but it wouldn’t justify murder,” he said. “But having said that, any time we can push back here in Americaagainst actions like this that put our troops at risk, we ought to do it.”

You know what puts our troops at risk, Lindsey? Evil barbarians. It also puts them at risk when you remain willfully ignorant to that fact and, instead, attempt to put the blame on others. Squashing our freedom of speech by having the American government condemn the exercisethereof does nothing to protect our troops. In fact, it spits on the very freedoms for which they fight.

Harry Reid went even further and said there may have to be hearings on Koran burnings. Lindsey Graham not only wants to condemn the exercise of free speech, but may want to actually limit it. He wants to take away rights from American citizens — to appease people who wish to kill usOn Face The Nation today (video above) he said “Freedom of speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war.”

So much for that pesky old Constitution, I suppose.

Funny how this limit to free speech doesn’t apply to Congress-pigs who declare the war “already lost” or support rumors and accusations, even films, that portray our troops as barbaric rapers and killers of women and children. I suppose that accusation against our people doesn’t incite hatred from our enemies, huh? The stupidity of our elected officials never ceases to amaze me.

Do you know what the trouble with our country is? Our political leadership has a problem killing our enemies – all of them!

Hypothetical situation: your neighbor has threatened to kill his wife if you desecrate his holy book. You believe him, but you desecrate the book anyway, and he does, in fact, kill his wife. Are you honestly going to claim to have no moral responsibility for that woman’s death? Obviously your neighbor is the person most responsible, but that doesn’t change the fact that you knew the consequences of your (fairly meaningless) action but you decided to do it anyway. I’d say that makes you a soulless bastard, at the very least.

The neighbor is completely responsible for killing his own wife in said situation. (though he’d probably be able to get away with an insanity verdict. for it) No amount of moral relativity can change this.

Hypothetical situation: If someone were to publish pictures of Muhammad, is that person partly responsible for his or her own murder attempts? No wait, scratch that. That ISN’T a hypothetical situation. Here is one: If a man believes that a woman who dresses in a way he deems is inappropriate, and upon seeing such a woman he rapes her, is it her fault? Oh wait, that ISN’T a hypothetical situation either…. I’ll try yet again: An Imam in Pakistan burns a Bible, and American Christians respond by rioting and killing American Muslims. Is it the Imam’s fault?

Very well said. I am very disappoint to admit that I am a Nevada because we reelected this ell. I would also add to Harry and Lindsey that our government putting silly and unrealistic rules of engagement in place put our troops in more harm than this pastor. These rules are demanded by weak will individuals like Harry and Lindsey. No one forces anyone to do any action, they are solely responsible. As a christian I would never even consider doing anything, much less murder, just because someone did something to a book no matter how holy I find that book. I would say that most Christians would have the same thinking. Some people really do not need any reason to do bad things, any excuse will do.

Book burning is an act of censorship. Corruptocrats condemning censorship is appallingly sanctimonious. Censorship is an essential element of the Islamafascists’ creed.

The very act of accepting the precepts of Islamofascism’s jihad movement is prima facie evidence of being cerebrally challenged. Sentient beings reject the notion that there is a supreme being who advocates stoning, rape, oppression, honor killings, and murder of innocents.

My question is this: Why haven’t they ALL been burned?
